Biochemistry
The biochemistry track builds on the university's chemistry degree to allow students to focus on a medical degree after graduation or pursue careers in the growing biotechnology industry, the pharmaceutical industry, and more. Students in the biochemistry track take less upper-level math and more biology courses to prepare them for careers with a biochemical emphasis.
Growing Field, Numerous Opportunities
Biochemistry is one of the fastest-changing fields of chemistry, with new medically-related discoveries each year. Biochemists work with proteins, DNA, the design and function of new drugs, and much more. Students in the biochemistry track may pursue graduate school and research, medical school or related health professions (perhaps via chemistry pre-med), or a career in industry.
