Faculty Position

Assistant Professor of Agricultural Education

Huntington University has an opening for a tenure track faculty position, Assistant Professor of Agricultural Education.  Primary responsibilities include leading and recruiting for Huntington University's agricultural teacher education program.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a strong personal Christian commitment and faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve others
  • Must be committed to the mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian College dedicated to educating men and women to impact our world for Christ
  • Demonstrated understanding of Christian higher education, preferred
  • Master's degree in Education or Ag Education required (doctorate required for tenure); must hold a current teaching licensure for teaching agriculture at the secondary level
  • Experience teaching agriculture at the high school or middle school level
  • Success in engagement with the Ag Education and Agribusiness communities
  • Past history of service in FFA or 4-H; experience in agriculture judging events or team management preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with others in a variety of settings
  • Candidates with experience or credentials in International Agriculture, Extension Education, Agribusiness, or Agricultural Economics will be given preferential consideration

Theatre Arts - Adjunct Faculty

Huntington University is seeking adjunct faculty members for a variety of courses in bachelor’s degree programs in Theatre, Theatre Performance, and Theatre Technology. Successful applicants will have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and an understanding of the integration of faith and art. Prior teaching and practical experience in the arts is essential. This position requires teaching during fall or spring terms during daytime hours (no evening courses available). Opportunities may also arise for directing or designing for productions as a guest artist.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • MFA, related Master’s degree or Ph.D. degree preferred; minimum of a bachelor’s degree in theatre, directing, performing arts, technical theatre, or related field required
  • Teaching experience and demonstrated potential for college-level teaching
  • Supportive of a Christian faith environment and the University’s educational goals 
  • Should enjoy creatively and interactively teaching non-theatre majors

Work Schedule: This is a part-time position.  Teaching is on a semester-by-semester basis as University needs arise.

Adjunct Instructor - Liberal Arts Chemistry Lab

Huntington University seeks to fill an adjunct teaching position in chemistry for the Fall of 2022, starting August 29. The qualified candidate will be asked to teach two or three sections of CH111L, Lab for Chemistry in Contemporary Society, per semester. Each lab section meets for one 2-hour time block per week. Evening hours are available if needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in a chemistry or biology-related field, or 5 years of relevant laboratory experience
  • Demonstrated potential for college-level teaching 
  • Familiarity with lab safety protocol and lab teaching logistics

Occupational Therapy - Adjunct Faculty

Huntington University’s Entry Level Doctorate of Occupational Therapy Program is inviting applications for adjunct faculty with relevant clinical or research expertise across the spectrum of OT practice.


Successful applicants must have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and an understanding of the relationship of integration of faith and professional practice. Personal commitment to stewardship and a desire to serve others with compassion is expected. The individual must be licensed by the state of Indiana as an occupational therapist and hold a degree (bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate) awarded by an institution that is accredited by an USDE-recognized regional accrediting body. Evidence of clinical practice and research activities in professional health care organizations and the ability to work successfully with a broad range of organizations is desired. Demonstrated organizational network, strong interpersonal, and effective communication skills are needed to be successful. 


Schedule and workload are flexible to meet the needs of active clinicians with an interest in teaching/academia. Support and collaboration with content development and delivery will be provided by the full-time faculty and program director.

The Occupational Therapy, Doctoral Program located in Fort Wayne, IN has an opening for a Graduate Assistant.

Must be enrolled in our Graduate OTD Program.

Maintain classroom, balcony, and lab space.  Monitoring and stocking supplies, laundry, maintaining classroom/lab furniture and equipment, providing support for lecture/lab set-up and clean up.  Inventory classroom and lab supplies, proctor exams, assist with program events, tutor students as directed by OT Faculty. 

Stipend:  $11.20 per hour with maximum of $1,000 per semester

Graduate Assistant for Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program

Director of Communication

Huntington University seeks part-time bus drivers for a 35 passenger bus.  This position is responsible for transporting students, staff, coaches, and passengers safely to and from their destination in the established times and in all types of weather and road conditions.  Observe legal, safe, and defensive driving practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ, a desire to serve others and a commitment to being a faithful steward of university resources
  • Must have a “clean” driving record
  • Have sufficient physical and mental abilities to operate a school bus/van in a safe manner
  • Must be narcotic drug and alcohol free
  • Professional driving experience preferred
  • This is a part-time, on call position
  • Minimum age of 25 years
  • Must possess a valid commercial driver’s with passenger endorsement
